The Limen Theatre (TL) was established in 2002. The leader of the company is Sylwia Hanff. Limen is a body theatre and uses different techniques, but its main focus is on the butoh dance. The theatre took part in many festivals, including FETA (Gdansk), the Warsaw Festival “Strefa Kultury” (The Zone of Culture), Fortalicje International Festival of Intuitive Art (Zamosc), the Japanese Night of Gutek Film, Japanese Days under the auspices of the Embassy of Japan in Miedzyzdroje. They also performed in many places around Poland. The company received several awards at theatre and dance competitions. TL has produced 7 performances, 4 short spectacles and a number of improvisations. In their Lunatix performance they had a guest butoh dancer – Atsushi Takenouchi from Japan. In 2006 TL took part in The Dance of the Forest, a joint undertaking carried out with the Chorea Theatre Association. Kan Katsura was the choreographer of the spectacle. |
